Palazzo Petrucci

• Lino fai tu, five courses, €100: the chef's choice, with a five-course vegetarian version at the same price.
• Lino fai tu, seven courses, €150.
• Signature, five courses, €120: the buffalo mozzarella and raw-prawn lasagnetta, squid tagliolino with clams and seaweed, spaghettone with friarielli, sea urchin and horseradish, stuffed red mullet, and a layered pastiera.
• Posillipo, six courses, €150: candele pasta with genovese reduction and snapper tartare, wagyu with foie gras and lobster, a seafood bollito with dashi.
• Parthenope Terra, €100: bean and escarole soup, genovese stew, standing paccheri with ragù, pork cheek in Aglianico.

A truffle dish, when available, adds €40. The wine list runs to about 1,000 labels, strong on Campanian growers and Champagne houses. Diners start with aperitifs in the Il Malandrino lounge before moving to the table.

This is not a verdict on the cooking, which Michelin still recommends. It is arithmetic. For €110 at Veritas you get a starred tasting menu, and for €55 a starred Saturday lunch. For €240 at George you get two stars and a view across the whole bay. Palazzo Petrucci's sea view in Posillipo is lovely, but the price was set for a star that is no longer there.

Palazzo Petrucci Pizzeria, at Piazza San Domenico Maggiore 5 on the square where the restaurant began, is No. 3 in 50 Top Pizza Italia 2026, ahead of 50 Kalò, and No. 12 on the world list. Michelin lists it too. It takes bookings, and its menu includes a Marinara a modo mio that is fried and then baked, with corbarino and datterino tomatoes, olives, Cetara anchovies and pecorino. It is on our decumani walk, on the same square as Scaturchio.

If you still want the Posillipo building, Il Malandrino on the same premises serves pizza and cocktails, with its own terrace; we did not check its prices.
