Palazzo Caracciolo is a large hotel in a restored noble palace at Via Carbonara 112, on the north-east edge of the old town near Porta Capuana. The hotel lists 143 rooms and says the restoration of the palazzo was completed in 2009. It is run by Caracciolo Hospitality Group. Older guides call it an MGallery hotel; the hotel's own website makes no mention of MGallery or Accor, so do not count on earning Accor points.
On Kayak on September 30, 2026, a queen room for October 14, 2026 started at €307, room only and non-refundable, or €341 with free cancellation. For November 11 the cheapest was €337 for a superior queen, or €377 for a flexible deluxe king. Taxes and fees are included. It was one of only two hotels we priced that cost more in November than in mid-October.

None included breakfast. The city tax adds €6 per person per night. The hotel's own pages call it a five-star in one place; Kayak lists it as a four-star. At this hotel the difference does not change the tax, because the Comune charges both categories the same €6 since May 1, 2026.
What you get
A grand building with an arcaded courtyard, contemporary rooms, a restaurant and a small wellness area. The spa costs €15 per guest for shared use or €25 for an exclusive session, by the hotel's price list. The hotel pitches itself as a meeting hotel, and it shows: big corridors, event rooms and groups.
Location: close to the trains, far from the sea
By OpenStreetMap foot routing, Napoli Centrale is 15 minutes (1.1 km) away. That makes it one of the few characterful hotels within walking distance of the station, useful for early trains to Pompeii or Rome. The hotel names Piazza Cavour on Line 2 as the nearest metro, about 10 minutes on foot, and the 203 and C83 buses stop in Via Carbonara.
The sights are less close than the brochure suggests. Piazza del Gesu Nuovo is 21 minutes (1.6 km), the Duomo nearer, Molo Beverello 34 minutes (2.5 km) and Piazza del Plebiscito 40 minutes (3 km). Porta Capuana is a working neighborhood of markets and traffic rather than a tourist quarter; read our station area page before you choose this end of town.
Better options for the same money
For €307 to €345 room only, the Eurostars Hotel Excelsior puts you on the seafront opposite Castel dell'Ovo. For less, with breakfast, the Decumani puts you six minutes from Spaccanapoli (€190 to €266). If the station is the point, the Starhotels Terminus faces it across the square and sold room-only doubles for €141 to €247 on the same dates.
Who it suits
Conference guests, groups who need many rooms under one roof, and travellers with an early train who want a palazzo rather than a chain hotel by the tracks. It can also work for a short stay built around the eastern old town: the Duomo, Pio Monte della Misericordia and the pizzerias near Porta Capuana. For a first holiday in Naples, with the sea, Plebiscito and Spaccanapoli on the list, it is in the wrong place for the price.
