None of these rates included breakfast. Check whether your chosen rate does. The cafes around Piazza del Plebiscito, 10 minutes away, include Gran Caffe Gambrinus, and a stand-up espresso and sfogliatella at a bar costs far less than a hotel buffet.

The Excelsior stands opposite Castel dell'Ovo and the Borgo Marinari. Eurostars lists 122 rooms: 100 rooms and 22 suites in several categories. The rooftop restaurant, La Terrazza, looks over the bay to Vesuvius. The cheapest rates are classic doubles and are not sold as sea view, so ask which way the room faces if the view matters to you.

Expect a classic hotel rather than a design one: chandeliers, carpets, marble. Some Kayak reviewers found parts of the rooms dated. That is consistent with the price gap to the Vesuvio.

By OpenStreetMap foot routing, Piazza del Plebiscito is 10 minutes (780 m) away, Molo Beverello for the island hydrofoils 20 minutes (1.5 km), and Piazza del Gesu Nuovo, the western end of Spaccanapoli, 29 minutes (2.2 km). Napoli Centrale is 3.8 km (2.4 miles) away, around 50 minutes, so arrive by taxi.

The seafront is at its best early in the morning and at sunset. The Lungomare walk to Mergellina starts outside the door. For evenings, Chiaia is 13 minutes inland on foot (1 km to Piazza dei Martiri).

The hotel has an agreement with a nearby garage: €30 or €50 a day depending on the size of the car, from check-in until 12:30 p.m. the next day, with valet service and no booking needed. That is the clearest parking deal among the seafront hotels. Via Partenope is not on the city's published ZTL list.

Add the city tourist tax of €6 per person per night, the rate the Comune di Napoli has charged at four-star hotels since May 1, 2026. Two adults for three nights pay €36.

Couples and first-timers who want the classic seafront picture, a flat walk to Plebiscito and the Palazzo Reale, and a clear parking price if they arrive by car from the Amalfi Coast.
