The streets around the hotel are the reason to stay: Via dei Mille, Via Filangieri and Via Calabritto for shopping, the bars of the Chiaia lanes for aperitivo, and the Lungomare and the Villa Comunale gardens a few minutes south. On weekend evenings the bar streets near Vico Belledonne are crowded until late; that is the noise to expect. The hotel's own lifestyle page flags Terrazza Calabritto, which closes on Sundays.

Chiaia has limited-traffic rules that catch visitors. The city's Belledonne-Martiri-Poerio ZTL is active from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. every day. On Saturdays Via dei Mille, Via Filangieri, Via Santa Caterina a Chiaia, Via Morelli and Via Santa Maria a Cappella Vecchia close to traffic from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. From December 8 to January 6 the Morelli-Filangieri-Mille ZTL adds weekend and holiday closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Hotel guests' cars are an authorized category in the Morelli-Filangieri-Mille rules, but the authorization has to be set up. Send the hotel your plate number before you arrive and ask for the approach route.

By OpenStreetMap foot routing, Piazza del Plebiscito is 12 minutes (890 m), Molo Beverello 24 minutes (1.8 km) and Piazza del Gesu Nuovo 28 minutes (2.1 km). Napoli Centrale is 3.9 km (2.4 miles) away, so arrive by taxi. Metro Line 6, reopened in July 2024, has two stations in the district, San Pasquale and Chiaia-Monte di Dio, and runs to Municipio, where you change for Line 1 and the ferries. Its trains run every 14 minutes and stop in the early afternoon at weekends, according to Wikipedia's summary of the ANM timetable, so check before you rely on it.

Return visitors and couples who want to shop, eat well and stroll the seafront, and families who need a family room or connecting rooms. First-timers focused on the old town will spend more time walking, or in taxis, than they would from the Decumani. If you want Chiaia prices lower, the Excelsior on the seafront, 15 minutes away on foot, sold room-only doubles for €307 to €345 on the same dates.
