L'Antiquario is a cocktail bar at Via Vannella Gaetani 2, in Chiaia. It was opened by Alexander Frezza, a Neapolitan bartender who made his name in international competitions, and Gambero Rosso calls it the trailblazer of the city's cocktail scene. On Europe's 50 Best Bars 2026 it is No. 28.
The room is red velvet, floral wallpaper and dark wood, with the feel of a gentlemen's club or an old jazz lounge, and live music on weeknights. The bartenders wear white jackets. The list is built on Italian classics, with a few modern drinks alongside.

What to order
- Un Grande Limone: the house signature, four kinds of citrus in one glass: gin, citron water, citron liqueur, lemon and limoncello. Southern Italy in a glass.
- The Negroni trio: three negronis served on a custom silver tower, the bar's piece of theater.
- Banana Split: a milk-washed drink of vanilla vodka, strawberry, banana and cocoa, for the modern side of the menu.
If you are not sure, ask for a classic done well; that is the bar's strength, according to the 50 Best citation.
Before you go
We could not find published opening hours, prices or a dress code: the bar's own booking page runs on a platform we could not read, and the 50 Best and Gambero Rosso entries do not list them. The room and the white jackets suggest you dress up a little, but that is our advice, not a rule the bar publishes.
The Chiaia drinks scene
Gambero Rosso credits L'Antiquario with opening the way for a new wave of Naples cocktail bars, among them Anthill on Via Toledo and Flanagan's on Via Carlo Poerio. For wine instead of cocktails, Enoteca Belledonne is nearby in Vico Belledonne a Chiaia. For dinner first, Veritas and George are up the hill on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and 50 Kalò is along the seafront at Mergellina.
