Caremar adds 12% (minimum €1) for tickets bought before the day of travel and €1 per ticket online, so on a quiet weekday buying at the port on the morning is cheapest. SNAV also runs Naples-Procida hydrofoils. Pozzuoli is reached by the Cumana railway or Metro Line 2 from Naples; the Cumana reopened along its full route on September 11, 2026 after quake damage, with a new Pozzuoli station. 1. Marina Grande, where boats land: the pastel waterfront called Sancio Cattolico.
2. Walk up through the lanes to Terra Murata, the walled medieval citadel on the island's highest point, with the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo and views over the whole bay.
3. Look down on Marina Corricella, then take the steps down into it: the fishing harbor of stacked, colored houses seen in so many photographs, with restaurants along the quay.
4. After lunch, walk or bus south to Chiaia beach (many steps) or west to the long beach of Ciraccio.
5. At the south-west tip, look across to Vivara, a nature reserve islet joined by a bridge.

The island's lanes are narrow and shared with cars and scooters; walk facing traffic where there is no sidewalk. EAV buses cost €1.20 a ride or €3.60 for a day, and EAV lists sales points on the island.

For one adult from central Naples, in October:

• Return hydrofoil from Beverello: €34.80. Or ferry both ways: €25.40.
• Landing charge: €3.50.
• Island day bus ticket: €3.60, if you use it.

That is about €30 to €42 before lunch, against €50 to €75 for a comparable day on Capri. If you go via Pozzuoli, the ferry both ways is €19, plus about €5.20 in train fares from Naples. The Capri, Ischia or Procida guide compares all three.

Procida is a good autumn and winter trip: the walk is the point, and it does not depend on beaches. Boats run all year, though fewer in winter and more at risk of cancellation in rough seas. In summer weekends, locals from Naples fill the beaches and boats, and the Corricella quay is busiest at lunch.

• Wear shoes for steps and cobbles; the way down to Corricella and to Chiaia beach is all stairs.
• Terra Murata's abbey has its own opening hours and charges for its museum; we could not confirm the 2026 price.
• Check the last boat back when you land. On Caremar's timetable for October 8, 2026, the last hydrofoil from Procida to Naples left at 4:50 p.m., the last ferry to Naples at 8:15 p.m. and the last ferry to Pozzuoli at 6:10 p.m.
