The pool is carved into the tuff rock on the roof garden, with a 360-degree view: the bay, Vesuvius and Capri on one side, the Certosa di San Martino and Castel Sant'Elmo on the other. In season a pool bar opens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Il Vigneto restaurant serves lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Two catches. The pool is open only from May 15 to September 25, so an October or November stay does not include it. And the hotel says pool access is included in your rate only when you book on its official website. If a swim matters, book direct and book in summer.

The hotel is frank about its rooms. Their size and layout follow the original monastery, so rooms are not large. There are no balconies; three rooms have a private terrace and can only be booked direct. Classic rooms take two people maximum, children included, so families must book a Superior or Junior Suite (one child, with a supplement) or ask for one of two pairs of connecting rooms by email. There are no quadruple rooms. Pets are allowed for €50 per stay.

Add the city tax: €6 per person per night at four-star hotels since May 1, 2026. Parking in the hotel garage is €40 a day, with valet from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., or €60 for a large SUV.

By OpenStreetMap foot routing, Line 1's Toledo station is 9 minutes (650 m) away, Piazza del Gesu Nuovo 13 minutes (1 km), Piazza del Plebiscito 16 minutes (1.2 km) and Molo Beverello 21 minutes (1.6 km). Those times are downhill. Coming back means climbing through the Quartieri, often by steps. The Montesanto and Centrale funiculars both have a Corso Vittorio Emanuele stop along this road, which helps for the Vomero. Napoli Centrale is 3.1 km (1.9 miles) away: take a taxi.

Couples who want a sea view from the room at a four-star price, and summer travellers who will use the pool. It is a sensible base for the Vomero and Pedamentina walk and for evenings in the Quartieri. It suits less well travellers with mobility problems, families of four, and anyone coming between late September and mid-May who is choosing it for the pool.
