EU citizens aged 18 to 24 pay €2 and under-18s go free, with ID. You cannot leave and re-enter on the same ticket. Online tickets are for a time slot and you cannot enter before it. On free first Sundays, the English Garden, some rooms, the Gran Galleria and the court theater are closed, and queues are long. The Campania Artecard gives a reduced €7 entry or free entry depending on the version; activate it at the infopoint by the central gate.

Regional trains run from Napoli Centrale to Caserta several times an hour on some routes. On Trenitalia's booking site for a sample Thursday in October, direct regionals took 40 to 50 minutes (for example 9:30 a.m. arriving 10:10 a.m.) for €4. Some services change or use buses, so pick direct trains. From Caserta station, walk straight across Piazza Carlo di Borbone to the palace entrance: 593 m, under 10 minutes.

Enter through the central gate into the cannocchiale, the long vaulted passage that lines up the entrance, the courtyards and the park. The grand staircase, lit from a double vault, leads to the upper vestibule and the royal apartments: 18th-century rooms by Vanvitelli's plan, and 19th-century rooms of the later Bourbon and Napoleonic periods.

• Court theater: open Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., thanks to Touring Club volunteers; closed on free days.
• Palatine Chapel: Mass on Sundays, 11 a.m. to noon; floor works since July 2026 have changed the route to the exhibition next door.
• Exhibition: "Archetipi", photographs by Antonio Biasiucci, in the Gran Galleria until November 30, 2026, included in the ticket.

The palace warns that parts of the route may close when there are not enough staff; since August 10, 2026 the 18th-century back rooms with part of the Terrae Motus collection have been shut for that reason.

Behind the palace, the park runs in a straight line for about 3 km along the Via d'Acqua, a chain of pools and sculpted fountains, to the great cascade and the Fountain of Diana and Actaeon. The English Garden, to the right of the top, is a romantic landscape garden with a lake and fake ruins.

• Shuttle bus: €3 return from the park entrance to the top, near the Diana fountain and the English Garden gate.
• Bikes and golf carts can be hired at the park entrance by the palace.
• On foot: about 3 km each way, gently uphill on the way out; allow 40 minutes or more each way.

Two cautions for autumn 2026. The restoration of the monumental fountains on the Via d'Acqua and a new irrigation system have been extended "until a date to be determined", so some fountains may be dry or fenced. And the park closes in high wind: it was shut on September 23, 2026 after a night of strong wind, pending safety checks, and on April 1 for bad weather. 2. Park first, while it is open: shuttle up, walk down through the English Garden and along the Via d'Acqua. In November the park's last entry is 2:30 p.m.
3. Lunch: the park's small Diana e Atteone restaurant is by the top (it had an unplanned closure on August 31), or eat in town.
4. Royal apartments in the afternoon, open until 7:15 p.m.
